It's a phone....it's an mp3....it's a doorlock!!!
It may look more like a competitor to the iphone but for those of us that have to have the very latest gadget Samsung have created the touch screen door lock currently available in Korea.

HP Virtus
Woohoo! A couple of weeks back I put a posting up on tglp moaning about the (lack of) quality ID coming out of DELL. Well, credit where it's due HP are upping their game with these new leaked shots of the Virtus destop. There aren't many details out yet but at least someone's spent a little time thinking about how the thing looks. You can see more pics at Engadget.

cima ladder

Cima Ladder was chosen to be part of the 20 selected entries of the Composites-on-Tour exhibition organized by Design Flanders, Belgium.
The manufacture of the ladder is produced in a single piece using the monocoque technique, similar to that used in bicycle frames. The material used is a carbon fibre composite. The continuous shape and the closed frame spread the forces in all directions. This study of form added to the high strength of the carbon fiber and allowed an extra thin and light ladder of only 1 Kg. The fact that the finished ladder works as a single piece makes the ladder more stable during the lifetime avoiding rattle of assembly parts.
Nice ladder but what's with the the goatee?

Sidewinder
Microsoft are well and truly back into PC peripherals with this resurrection of the Sidewinder range. This new mouse has all kinds of new fangled electronic gizmos, gamers can even alter the weight of the device courtesy of little slide out drawer. Apparently, the new features are the result of extensive consultation with gamers. This is good to hear, but who asked for it to look so crappy??

d3O

d3o is one of those new wonder materials that has cool and wierd properties. It's thixotropic which basically means it's like custard ie. it's soft but becomes firm on impact. The material is normally used for things like snowboarding hats, clothing and other such radical sports apparel. The clever folk at ame design (nature's greatest design co.) have been exploring other more creative applications such as the 'sticklebrick' shopping bag above.

Another faceless product
Seifart plays with the trend in which watches are increasingly being used as fashion accessories rather than as a way of telling time. Ina Seifart
